Image 2: “This black cat was at home in the fish market of Valparaíso, Chile. I discovered it on a while walking through the chaotic market, as it readied itself to jump into the interactions of the working people. My presence did not appear to bother it as it leaped over onto the scruffy blue table.” – Wenpeng Lu
Image 3: “Conventional paper letters have largely vanished from the daily lives of people in China. These distinctive post boxes, which used to serve a purpose, are now little more than meaningless street decorations. They are a pale reflection of my childhood in a building much like this one. I hope I can preserve this memory for a long time.” – Tongyuan Lin
Image 4: “Ashland is the last stop on the Green Line in Chicago. Streams of people commute on this line on a daily basis. It is life as we know it from the American movies; but the trains, people, suburbs, children, dirty windows, sun and train tracks are raw, natural and unfiltered here.” – Michael Erimo
Image 5: “We were about to leave Etosha National Park in Namibia, when a giraffe decided to cross the road right in front of us. We stopped and waited patiently in the warm glow of the evening sun. It took its time before moving on, and as it allowed us to continue our drive, it threw me this leisurely glance over its shoulder – full of tranquil understanding.” – Thomas Schmid-Ninghetto
Image 6: “On Vietnam’s southern coast, freshly caught anchovies are salted, filled into vats and left to the sun and time – for months and years. The strong smelling, earthy aroma of the final product is more than sustenance: it’s the culinary heritage of the sea, passed on for many generations.” – Woo Jung Choi
Image 7: “The historic Parque de Las Palomas in Puerto Rico is home to innumerable quantities of pigeons. Visiting it regularly is a family tradition of mine. Every time, the lively chaos and happy laughter of people as the pigeons are fed, is like a little voyage into the past for me.” – Juan Sostre
