This year’s FoamTalent exhibition comprises works by 15 outstanding artists, chosen from 2,892 submissions from 107 countries. The 15 Foam Talents reflect the energy, diversity and global reach of today’s emerging photographic practices. Collectively, their work points to bold new directions within the medium, and demonstrates a strong commitment to storytelling across a wide range of narratives, perspectives and artistic approaches.
In a world marked by continuous uncertainty and change, the Foam Talents explore some of the most pressing issues of our time: from political oppression, conflict and displacement, to technological innovation, cultural identity, grief, mental health, religion and faith. Across these diverse bodies of work, there is one recurring theme: the concept of home. For many of the represented artists, home is defined not so much as a geographic location, but a web of memories, relationships and emotional connections. Through their work – be it declarations of faith, reflections on traumatic experiences, or visions of new forms of resilience – they illustrate that home is not just a place we come from, but something we carry within us and continue to shape.
