Last chance to visit Europe’s largest outdoor photo festival in Baden, Austria: through to October 15, the picturesque town near Vienna celebrates the medium of photography, with a core focus on Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
All three of these countries are home to artists renowned for their innovative techniques, convention-defying visual approaches, and humanist perspectives. Abbas, Ebrahim Noroozi, Gohar Dashti & Hamed Noori, Maryam Firuzi, Hashem Shakeri, Shah Marai & Wakil Kohsar, Fatimah Hossaini, as well as Paul Almasy, Véronique de Viguerie and Sarah Caron, are among the acclaimed photographers and photojournalists represented at this year’s festival edition.
Ever since it was established in 2018, La Gacilly-Baden Photo has been steadfast in its mission to convey the beauty of our planet, while also highlighting the importance of protecting our environment. This is perfectly illustrated by the works of artists such as Mélanie Wenger, Bernard Descamps, Gabriele Cecconi, Stephan Gladieu, Money Sharma, Antonin Borgeaud, Jérôme Blin, Alisa Martynova, Maxime Taillez and Chloé Azzopardi – all of whom seek to serve as witnesses and active contributors to safeguarding our natural world.
