There’s good reason for the saying that describes the eyes as being the mirror of the soul: a captured glimpse produces a tangible energy, giving rise to emotions and bridging the gap between observer and motif. Its significance lies in its ability to overcome barriers, and convey depth, fascination and even intimacy in a visual narrative — and to communicate in a way that words alone can’t achieve. Eye contact breathes life into a image; it invites you to explore the depth of the captured moment, and leaves a lasting impression.
Guided by this understanding, our editorial team set out on a journey through the LFI.Gallery in search of exceptional photographs, that embody the power of eye contact. Each of the pictures shown underlines its great significance in photography – as well as the talent of Gallery photographers, of course. So we invite you to join us and embark on a visual journey, to make connections and immerse yourself in the stories that open up before your eyes.
