New Venue for International Photography

Located near the Oranien Square in Berlin, the new 200-square-metre venue F3 – Freiraum für Fotografie will present five to six exhibitions a year featuring international auteur photography. The space, which was initiated by the Society for Humanist Photography (GfHF), will also regularly host artist talks, discussion rounds and workshops.
The F3 opens on 5 April 2017 with Nancy Borowick’s A Life In Death – a long-term reportage about her parents, both of which suffer from cancer. The photographer accompanies them with her camera over the course of several years. With great respect, Borowick documents her parents’ experiences as they undergo cancer treatment – capturing the everyday bickering and changing dynamics between the couple who are connected by infinitely more than this particular challenge. The result are images of a family and their daily lives, marked by love and loss. The moving black and white series was awarded the World Press Photo Award (category: Long-Term Project) in 2016.
