Night of Photojournalism

November 7, 2024

Fondation Carmignac, CatchLight and Dysturb present the second edition of the Night of Photojournalism, set to take place on Saturday 9 November 2024 as part of the PhotoSaintGermain Festival.
The Night of Photojournalism celebrates innovation in visual journalism, bringing together photographers, journalists, photo editors, visual organisations, creative collectives and digital content creators. High-calibre panel discussions kick off the event – along with the opening reception for the CatchLight Global Fellowship Program, which fosters professional development, offers valuable networks and provides a total of $30,000 in scholarships. Applications for the fellowship program are accepted until 14 December 2024.

The evening then continues with a projected exhibition of works by renowned photojournalists from around the world, accompanied by a live music performance by Laurent Bardainne and Arthur Peschaud. A pop-up bar offers a perfect chance to network and forge new connections. The central themes of this year’s Night of Photojournalism are the rights of women in Afghanistan, civilian life in conflict zones such as Ukraine and Palestine, as well as reflections on democracy in South Africa. The panelists and keynote speakers include Amandine Lauriol, Andrea Bruce, Mélissa Cornet and Kiana Hayeri, Anastasia Taylor Lind and Tanya Habjouqa, Cristina de Middel, Tshepiso Mazibuko and Sibusiso Bheka.
