Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2025

November 4, 2024

The four finalists for the 2025 Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize have been announced: Cristina De Middel, Rahim Fortune, Tarrah Krajnak, and Lindokuhle Sobekwa.
With this prestigious annual award (est. 1996), the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation honours artists who have made a significant contribution to the medium of photography with projects created in the previous twelve months. The works selected for the 2025 edition span from documentary projects to staged renditions, self-portraits, performative orchestrations and images from family archives. Themes such as migration, community and belonging, cross-generational rituals and traditions, as well as family memories and histories, are brought together in an impressive shortlist – highlighting some of the most outstanding photography to have been showcased or published within Europe in the past year.

The annual Finalists’ Exhibition will be displayed at the Photographers’ Gallery in London from 7 March to 15 June 2025, featuring the four shortlisted projects. On 15 May 2025, the winner will be revealed during the award ceremony held at the gallery. The winner stands to receive a monetary prize of 30,000 British Pounds, while 5,000 British Pounds will be awarded to each of the three remaining finalists.
