WestLicht Photographica Auction

Hasselblad Lunar Module Pilot Camera "Jim Irwin – Apollo 15"
660,000 EUR
Leica cameras also enjoyed great success this year. The sales quota for the around 270 Leitz/Leica items was 100 percent, proving the high, uninterrupted demand for these cameras.
Within the Leitz/Leica items, the top bid of 192,000 euros was paid for a set of four M6 prototypes and designer models, which reveal the evolution of the M6 from a wooden model to functioning prototypes. The starting price had been set at 40,000 euros.
With total sales amounting to 900,000 euros and a sales quota of 75%, the 10th photo auction turned out to be WestLicht Galerie's most successful photo auction to date.
The highest bid went to Wanda Wulz's “Io + Gatto”, one of the most famous double exposures in the history of photography. With a starting price of 40,000 euros, the rare image from the early fifties reached a sales price of 102,000 euros.
