Fotomuseum Den Haag presents a major exhibition of works by legendary photographer Eddy Posthuma de Boer (born 1931). A contemporary of Ed van der Elsken and Johan van der Keuken, he is one of the most important living representatives of humanist photography in the Netherlands. His great love of travelling has enabled him to document people’s lives in more than eighty countries. He was also a frequent travel companion of fellow Dutchman Cees Noteboom (born 1933), who continues to work as a travel journalist, author and literary critic.
Spanning from the humorous to the dramatic, Posthuma de Boer’s oeuvre addresses the full breadth of the human condition. His work has been featured in newspapers and magazines such as Het Parool, De Volkskrant, Time-Life, Paris Match, Avenue and Holland Herald, and has been published in the form of over 15 photo books.
