Still life

Starting on September 8, the Galerie Particulière in Brussels is presenting an exhibition of works by Kate MccGwire, which will be on display up until October 15, 2016. The British artist has been creating animal forms, hybrid creatures that seem to be wrapped around themselves, since 2008.

Using carefully sorted bird feathers, MccGwire gives form to fable-like beings, that look as though they may come to life at any moment. Arranged in high-quality glass display cabinets, MccGwire’s works of art cleverly manage to confuse our perceptions, our visual habits and, above all, our imagination.
