With the most recent showcase of the artist’s work, the gallery presents a comprehensive selection of works that ranges from Bitesnich’s famous, sculpturally orchestrated nude photographs to his equally mesmerising, minimalist portraits.
When Bitesnich first took up photography in 1988, it marked the beginning of an intense, ten-year training process. Over time, the artist placed an increasing focus on nude photography: using strong contrasts and reduced compositions, Bitesnich developed his own visual language, and gained worldwide renown in the late 1990s.
In addition to his body and portrait studies – which are usually shot in the studio in black and white – the artist also has a passion for street and travel photography, which he primarily captures in colour.
