Mysterious Scenes

November 1, 2017

From 17 November 2017, the CWC Gallery in Berlin presents the exhibition ‘Love & Lights’ with works by David Drebin.
Berlin’s CWC Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition Love & Lights by David Drebin, which opens its doors on 17 November 2017. The show comprises more than 30 of the artist’s works, including new large-format photographs, spectacular light box displays, high-end neon-installations and impressive sculptures. The exhibition is accompanied by a book of the same title, published by teNeues.

Love & Lights is Drebin’s first European show to include artworks that have evolved out of his pursuit of the photographic medium. The artist’s primary subject in all of his work is an exploration of women’s fantasies and desires, and the erotic allure of the female form. The women in his photographs are as unattainable as they are irresistible, emanating a deeply enticing atmosphere.

The observer turns voyeur, as we take a peek into the apartments of glamorous, strong and beautiful women who are displayed in mysteriously staged scenes. The images allow the viewer to partake in the yearnings, dreams and hopes of women. In his artworks, Drebin skilfully creates a moving blend of intimacy, humour, love, eroticism, loneliness and melancholy.

On 18 November, visitors are invited to attend a tour of the exhibition, followed by a signature session. The event starts at 15.00.
