Image 1: “This picture was taken on our family holiday in a resort in Buyeo, South Korea. To capture themoment and this impressive building, I asked my wife and child to stand by the window, which extends down to the floor. I was able to take this picture through a little window across the street.” – Bong Goo Kang

Image 2: “I was looking over a sea of cowboy hats at the Voghera Country Festival. Usually I’m drawn to geometric shapes, even in daily life. I was somewhat hesitant about this composition at first. Then one cowboy lifted his head and the symmetry of the moment revealed itself.”  – Gio Sormani

Image 3: “Once, when visiting Venice Beach in California, a young man from Texas, Amir Smith, asked if I could take a few photos of him. I chose this special shooting location, because you really feel like the king of the world up there. It was the ideal spot to capture his extraordinary talent.” – Greg St. Johns

Image 4: “The Holi Festival in Jodhpur, the so called ‘Blue City’, had just begun. I went out early in the morning, in search of interesting motifs. The light is very soft at that time of day, the perfect atmosphere for photography. I just had to wait for the right moment to come along.” – Martin Froyda

Image 5: “I am convinced that people and places find me, just like this motif did. When I go out totake pictures I often only take one lens. The 75 seemed like the right choice that day. The title marks the end of my professional career, and the beginning of my personal work.” – James Bridges

Image 6: “Vlaleubal is a small music festival in La Rochelle, France, with about 5 000 visitors every year. The picture looks like a scene from Tim Burton’s movie Mars Attacks! I like the smoke and the outfit the DJ is wearing. He looks less like a DJ and more like a UFO pilot.” – Mathieu Bonizec

Image 7: “This was a dance competition taking place outside the French National Library. Eager spectators, performers and children lined the square. I love the open and relaxed atmosphere characteristic of hip hop street culture. It reminds me of the US, where hip hop was born.” – Michael Erimo

Image 8: “During fashion week, my home town of Milan is a haven for street photographers such as myself. The city overflows with eccentric-looking people, and the next interesting shot is never far away. Colours are always especially inspiring to me in my photography practice.” – Marco Parenti
