For the 24th time, the Lead Academy gives out the Lead Awards – Germany’s most prestigious award for print and online publications. The exhibition Visual Leader, showcasing all of this year’s nominations, will be on display at Hamburg’s Deichtorhallen until 30 October 2016.
The awards are divided into the four main categories of Photography, Magazines, Newspapers and Advertising. S Magazine No 7, titled American Made and featuring the work of Bruce Gilden, has been awarded in the sub-category of Portrait Photography of the Year. As part of the exhibition, LFI are presenting several giant-format, 270 × 180 cm prints.
Established and organised by independent freelance publicists, photographers, designers and communications experts, the Lead Awards are among the few German media awards given out by neither a major company nor a government institution. Instead of an application process, participation is exclusively based on jury nominations.
