The exhibition "Last Days of the Arctic" by Icelandic photographer Ragnar Axelsson will be showing at the Leica Gallery in Solms throughout October and November 2013.

The series features mesmerising ice-scapes with gigantic glaciers, along with scenes from the everyday lives of the Inuits, who earn their living by hunting seals, whales and polar bears. The photos were taken near Kangertittivaq, better known as Scoresbysund – a fjord system on the East coast of Greenland. Breathtaking images convey the harshness of the hunters' everyday lives amidst the eternal ice, which are increasingly affected by climate change.
