On April 30, 2026, Leica’s global network was expanded by the new Leica Store in Chicago. Situated in the heart of the historic Gold Coast – one of the city’s culturally and architecturally most significant districts –the new Leica Store perfectly captures Chicago’s creative spirit, offering a dynamic, interactive space where visitors are able to view an ever-changing programme of exhibitions, take part in Leica Academy workshops, engage with other creatives, and discover the latest technical innovations. Its location on the upscale shopping stretch of Chicago’s Michigan Avenue known as the Magnificent Mile further strengthens Leica’s presence in key cosmopolitan areas around the world.
The inaugural exhibition is dedicated to American photographer Craig Semetko: Life Unposed features images from the artist’s best-known books and series, including his recent publication, America Unposed. In this superbly produced photo book (available from the LFI Shop), Semetko presents a collection of 67 images across 96 pages, bringing together diversity, beauty and turmoil, the mundane and the extraordinary, the poignant and the absurd.

Craig Semetko+-
Born in 1961, Semetko grew up near Detroit, Michigan. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Speech from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. He holds a Master of Consciousness Studies from the University of Philosophical Research in Los Angeles. He worked as a comedy author and performer before turning to photography around 2000. His pictures have been displayed in the USA, Europe and Asia. He has published Unposed (2009), Unposed India (2014), and mostly recently Unposed America. More
