Image 1: “My fiancée was sitting in this rusty buggy, and asked me with pure excitement in her eyes, “Are you ready for this?” I immediately took this shot and replied: “You bet I am!” Then we were speeding off across the desert near Hurghada. For a few moments all the troubles of the world were far away.” – Erik Pothast

Image 2: “In Harar, Ethiopia, I was drawn to the coexistence of these two differentbeings: the woman, absorbed in her daily work, and the cat, suddenly turning toward me. I let the atmosphere unfold without forcing anything, capturing the interplay of stillness and interruption, intimacy and distance.” – Andrea Torrei

Image 3: “I was struck by the surreal and dreamlike qualities of this landscape on the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. Below me were 10cm of water, above a cloud-covered sky, perfectly reflected on the surface of the salt flat. This couple appeared to be suspended in mid-air with no specific destination.” – Francesco Dolfi

Image 4: “This photo was takenat a 1940’s living history event in the UK. I’ve been documenting re-enactors as an expression of British eccentricity for over 15 years. Naomi was part of a group who were pausing for a tea and cake beneath the trees. The light created this tranquil moment of nostalgia.” – Russell Cobb

Image 5: “This picture was taken at an anti-ICE protest in front of the L.A. Metropolitan Detention Center. A demonstrator playinghis bagpipes wore arespirator, allowing himto keep going through clouds of tear gas. Over 40 peaceful protesters were arrested shortly after this photo was taken.” – Moon Mandel

Image 6: “At a large bazaar in the Old City of Peshawar, Pakistan, I passed by a garlic stall with three young men casually sitting together, drinking tea and chatting. It felt like a perfect scene. This was my third trip to Pakistan, and I was struck once more by the warmth of the people and everyday life here.” – Ping Chen

Image 7: “It was a cold but very sunny day at the Midland Railway Centre in Butterley, Derbyshire. A father of two lay on the ground, filming the train setting off, while his young children mimicked him, also lying down beside him. I found it very touching and it made the image more interesting.” – Dave Couldwell
