For her ‘Changing Landscape’ project, the Italian photographer Barbara Rossi travelled along the shores of the Red Sea, from Suez to the border of Sudan, documenting human interventions in nature. The outcome is a suggestively surreal collection of endless landscapes and construction projects in the middle of nowhere, that reveal the contrasts between tradition and innovation. In our interview, Rossi spoke with us about past cultures, humanity’s link to nature, and skeletons in the area between the Nile and the desert.
