Joseph Rodriguez (b. 1951 in Brooklyn) studied at the School of Visual Arts, the New York City Technical College and the International Center of Photography, all located in NYC. He is renowned for his social-documentary approach with a primary focus on the United States.
With the exhibition ‘Taxi: Journey Through My Windows 1977-1987’, Cologne’s Bene Taschen Gallery presents an exceptional series, shot entirely through car windows. In the manner of the 1976 film classic ‘Taxi Driver’, Rodriguez skilfully captured the pulsating energy of New York City. Thirty years on, his remarkable images take the viewer on a unique journey through the perhaps most evocative metropolis in the world.
