100 days on foot in Germany

Jens Franke explored Germany on foot for 100 days. Starting at the geographically central point of Niederdorla, Thuringia, he was aiming for Affoldern in Hesse. His five year-old Husky, Aiko, was constantly at his side, carrying his own rucksack and opening doors and hearts. Franke set out without a specific route in mind, but with plenty of time and curiosity – as well as an appetite for regional delicacies. A journey as delightful as the last beams of sunshine at the end of a long day's hike.
Jens Franke (1981) uses photography to explore nature; before his 100 day journey through Germany he had been on foot, in a canoe or on skis in Austria, Norway, Sweden and Iceland. His "100 Tage" blog, which his first book "100 Tage Heimat" is based on, received the renowned Lead Award and was shared with thousands of delighted readers.
