f/stop – Festival for Photography

June 25, 2021

The f/stop – Festival for Photography takes place in Leipzig from June 25 to July 4, 2021.
Since it was first launched in 2007, the f/stop – Festival for Photography has been dedicated to addressing the topics of our time. The 9th edition of the festival, set to take place in Leipzig from June 25 to July 4, 2021, revolves around the theme of ‘TRUST’.

As we are navigating life in a pandemic, we have no way of knowing what the art and photography scene will look like after this global challenge has been resolved. In response to the current situation, the festival’s curators have come to view TRUST as a core value of the 21st century. The event aims to provide a platform for artistic, curatorial and scientific contributions that use the photographic medium as a basis for socio-political explorations.

Works by seven contemporary photographers – including Viktoria Binschtok, Ingrid Eggen, Laure Prouvost, and Carmen Winant – will be exhibited at the Leipzig Cotton Mill industrial site, presenting different approaches to the chosen theme. The displays are complemented by the festival’s online programme, ‘Digital Wonderings’.
