YEAST Photo Festival

The third edition of the Yeast Photo Festival is dedicated to unveiling the hidden stories behind our food. From 19 September to 3 November, international photographers will present their critical perspectives on our global food chain through a wide range of approaches – spanning from reportages and documentary projects to visual narratives and experimentations. The result is a multi-faceted programme of exhibitions that encourage a  conscious reflection on the foods we choose to consume. 

Highlighted topics include the exploitation of water resources for intensive avocado farming and the influence of drug cartels on this industry, the wide-spread use of crop protection chemicals and their impact on public health, as well as the dynamics of meat production and its effects on the climate crisis.

Several of the 15 showcased projects were created by photographers we have previously introduced in LFI, such as Alessia Rollo, Florian W. Müller, Jean-Marc Caimi & Valentina Piccinni, as well as Henrike Stahl, whose series L’Arc Sera Parmi Les Nuages was curated by LFI’s editor-in-chief, Inas Fayed.
