An exhibition of the winning works is currently showing at the Museum für Photographie in Braunschweig until 3 November 2013
Since 1994, the 10,000 euro Sponsorship Awards for Documentary Photography have been awarded to young photographers by the Wüstenrot Foundation, in close collaboration with the Museum Folkwang Photographic Collection.

The winning entries of the Wüstenrot Sponsorship Awards 08 are currently showing at the Museum für Photographie in Braunschweig – presenting the work of Tanja Jürgensen (1971), Mathias Königschulte (1974), Maziar Moradi (1975) and Kim Sperling (1975).

In her series Centers of Excellence, Tanja Jürgensen investigates life at America's Ivy League universities. Mathias Königschulte explores the Berlin district of Wedding in his series of the same title. Maziar Moradi documents the lives of Iranian transsexuals in his project Was wir sind (What We Are), while Kim Sperling dedicated his project Dokdo to the tiny island off Korea's east coast.
