World Press Photo Festival in Amsterdam

April 7, 2018

This year’s World Press Photo Festival takes place in Amsterdam on 13 and 14 April 2018.
This year’s edition of the World Press Photo Festival takes place at Amsterdam’s Westergasfabriek on 13 and 14 April. In the course of the two-day event, visitors will be presented with numerous talks, workshops, signing sessions and much more. The programme also includes an exhibition of images from this year’s World Press Photo Contest and the 2018 Digital Storytelling Contest, which will subsequently tour some 100 venues around the world.

Among the featured speakers are Pulitzer-Prize winning photojournalist Stephanie Sinclair, who will introduce her project Too Young To Wed, and former White-House photographer Pete Souza, who will talk about his time as Barack Obama’s official photographer.

Also part of the festival is the awards ceremony for the Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award, established in 2014 to celebrate women photojournalists who have shown particular commitment and determination in pursuing their work.

Due to a partner programme, festival visitors will have free access to the Foam Museum, the Huis Marseille and the Het Ketelhuis, where further exhibitions and screenings will be shown.
