“When I think about Ukraine, the pictures from my Sparks project come to mind...
...It is a multidisciplinary project that I worked on in Ukraine between 2014 and 2016. The core of the endeavour was a series of portraits of non-professional soldiers who fought in Donbas. They told me about what they had experienced, what they had seen, and how they survived. Today they are fighting once again to protect all of Europe. They are not giving up. I believe that with their courage and the sanctions imposed on Russia, Putin will need to draw back. We all must believe in it.”
