Skating Culture: Up Close and Personal

June 26, 2026

From June 27 to September 6, 2026, Leica Gallery Amsterdam presents the collective exhibition Skaters Captured – including works by Ed & Deanna Templeton, Marcel Veldman and Ray Barbee.
Skaters Captured shows skateboarding through the lens of those who love it – and live it. In this exhibition, Leica Gallery Amsterdam brings together a remarkable group of photographers who not only know the skating scene inside out, but have also helped shape it. Their images are much more than compelling action shots – they reveal a world of freedom, creativity, friendship, and a visual language entirely of its own.

On display are works by American skaters and Leica photographers Ray Barbee, Ed & Deanna Templeto and Magdalena Wosinska, French skateboarder and photographer Fred Mortagne, as well as Dutch skaters and Leica photographers Marcel Veldman and Texas Schiffmacher.

Each artist contributes their own unique perspective. What they all have in common is a shared sense of culture – and an exceptional photographic eye.
