Under the title ‘About Walking’, photographers and analysts will talk about the various social and political aspects of walking. For some, it simply represents a welcome diversion amidst the current mobility restrictions. In other parts of the world, however, it is of existential importance – such as for the Indian migrant workers who walked hundreds of kilometres to return home at the beginning of lockdown.
The invited speakers are: photographers Michal Iwanowski, Andreas Langfeld, Paroma Mukherjee and Katja Stuke; urban planner Vidya Mohankumar; environmental activist and Veditum founder Siddharth Agarwal; also represented: the visual storytelling agency Storytrails Chennai.
The symposium will be moderated by Indian artist and curator Ram Rahman, along with Alexander Hagmann, founder and publisher of the ‘dieMotive’ culture and photography magazine.
The event takes place via Zoom, and will be held in English; participation is free of charge.
