Rock.Funk.Punk.

June 6, 2017

On 9 June from 19.00, the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt will be hosting the opening reception for ‘Rock.Funk.Punk.’
From 10 June to 27 August 2017, the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt presents Rock.Funk.Punk. – an exhibition of unique photographs capturing legendary concerts and musicians from the late sixties to today. The spotlight is on Rock, Funk and Punk performers, and the legacy these genres have left within the contemporary music scene.

More than 150 works, created by Michael L. Abramson, Susan Barnett, Pep Bonet, Anton Corbijn, Stanley Greene, Bob Gruen, Gijsbert Hanekroot, Barbara Klemm, Günter & Felix Pfannmüller and Derek Ridgers, show extraordinary scenes from famous stages and venues around the world. The spectrum ranges from the alternative Punk scene in 1970s San Francisco to the annual Rock am Ring festival in modern-day Nuremberg.

The images capture many of the leading icons of music history – among them Iggy Pop, Janis Joplin, Udo Lindenberg, Frank Zappa, Dead Kennedys, The Rolling Stones, Motörhead, Coldplay and Die Toten Hosen. On-stage photographs, showing bands and musicians in often world-famous poses, are juxtaposed with close and personal back-stage shots. The show is accompanied by a comprehensive exhibition guide.

The exhibition will be on display until 27 August 2017.
