Ralph Gibson

June 23, 2025

On June 28, Ralph Gibson will be in Cologne to sign copies of his new photo book Photographs 1960–2024.
Portraits, nudes, still lifes, abstractions: throughout his six-decade-long career, Ralph Gibson (b. 1939 in Los Angeles) has moved effortlessly between the most varied genres. With his colour and black-and-white images – always shot with a Leica – he has created entirely new ways of seeing.

This new photo book reveals the photographer’s personal perspective of his oeuvre: in addition to selecting the 450 featured images, he is also the author of all accompanying texts. The volume, which comprises a total of 22 chapters, illustrates the full breadth of Gibson’s work – featuring not only his most iconic photographs, but many new discoveries as well.

The artist now also presents his new book in Germany: he will be in attendance at the Taschen Store in Cologne (address: Neumarkt 3) on Saturday, June 28, from 12 – 1 p.m.

A comprehensive portfolio of Ralph Gibson’s work can be found in LFI Magazine issue no. 5.2025.
