Paolo Pellegrin is one of the world’s most widely acclaimed war and documentary photographers. His work has been honoured with numerous awards, including ten World Press Photo awards, as well as the Leica Medal of Excellence and the Robert Capa Gold Medal. Pellegrin has been a member of the Magnum Photos agency since 2001.
Un’ Antologia is a homage to the photographer’s life-long dedication to investigating the human condition. At the same time, it serves as an important reminder that the significance of reportage photography extends far beyond day-to-day news updates. More than 200 analogue and digital photographs – including vintage prints and previously unpublished works – will be presented in the exhibition, accompanied by only a bare minimum of interpretive text. Instead, the images are contextualised by video clips shot by the photographer, as well as a fascinating installation created in the gallery by Pellegrin himself.
The official opening takes place on October 31, 2019 at 11.30 am in attendance of the artist.
