Photolux 2016

November 19, 2016

From November 19 to December 11, 2016, Photolux in Lucca (ITA) presents the winners and finalists of the 2016 Leica Oskar Barnack Award.
From November 19 to December 11, 2016, Photolux presents the winners and finalists of the 2016 Leica Oskar Barnack Award – and they find themselves in good company, as the World Press Photo Awards 2016 and the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation Grant 2016 are also on display in Toscana. Another exhibition is dedicated to the oeuvre of Vivian Maier.

Workshops and Portfolio Reviews – primarily in Italian – complement the four exhibitions. As sponsor, Leica is organising the Leica Talks series with, among others, the Italian LOBA finalists, Fulvio Bugani and Giulio Piscitelli.

Eleven years ago, Enrico Stefanelli founded the Lucca Photo Fest as a yearly event. After it came to an end in 2011, he revived it in 2013 as the Photolux Festival and turned it into a Biennale for top class photography. So as to be able to continue offering exclusive photography to the general public in Lucca every year, he began to organise exhibitions in the alternate years. He is particularly delighted about this year‘s LOBA exhibition. “Following Paris and Berlin, this is the third LOBA 2016 presentation and the first and only one in Italy. We’d like to become ‘the Italian arm of LOBA’.”
