Leica Gallery Munich currently presents a showcase of works by musician, designer and photographer Lenny Kravitz. The selection, titled ‘Drifter|Flash’, can be viewed until June 30, 2021.
For decades, Kravitz has been revered as a legendary musician, as well as a successful actor and designer. And yet, photography has also been an integral part of his creative life for many years. This showcase of 27 images shines a new light on Kravitz as a skilled photographer. “I am a drifter. I’m always on the road – a free spirit, open to adventure.”
In exclusively black and white images, Kravitz takes the viewer on a journey – sharing intimate portraits and casual snapshots as well as carefully observed street scenes and still lifes. His spontaneity and instinct for the perfect moment give rise to images of a timeless quality, which simultaneously reveal a great deal about their author and his way of seeing the world.
