LEICA S (Typ 007)
Leica are offering a new firmware update for the Leica S (Typ 007). Registered owners can either download Firmware 2.0.0.1 from the Leica Owner's Area, or take their camera to be updated free of charge at any Leica Store.
In addition to a number of minor improvements, Firmware 2.0.0.1 increases the speed and accuracy of the autofocus, particularly in low ambient light. It also provides optimised white balance in conjunction with manual colour temperature (Kelvin), resulting in a more precise skin-tone rendition when shooting with flash.
In addition, S photographers have access to a software update of the accompanying Leica Image Shuttle 3.1, and of the Adobe Lightroom tethered-shooting plug-in for Mac users. Both upgrades can be downloaded free of charge from the Leica Owner's Area, and will also be available for users of Windows OS in the near future.
