The photographs Heyman was commissioned by author John Rublowsky to take for his book Pop Art, were taken from a similar ethnological perspective. In many of the pictures it is good to recognize what themes the artist was working on at that time. The atelier images of Roy Lichtenstein, for example, have him posing in front of his Nurse series.
In New York, Heyman made these early, vintage photographs of American Pop Art available to Norbert Bunge. This unique and detailed documentation of the history of American Pop Art will be shown in Germany for the first time.
