Intercultural Dialogue

March 7, 2024

The exhibition Good Prospects. FOCUS: Mexico – Germany is on view in Mexico City until 19 April 2024, featuring works by five German-Mexican artist duos.
Josefine Raab, founder and director of the gute aussichten (Good Prospects) initiative, has conceptualised a transatlantic collaboration between five Gute Aussichten Award winners from Germany, and five young artists from Mexico. Since April 2023, the respective artist duos have worked together to explore the intersections between their social, cultural and creative roots.

The resulting projects are as multi-faceted as they are surprising. Mariel Miranda & Konstantin Weber’s A Message In A Bottle or An Archive of How Two Artists Became Friends is comprised of a spatial installation, complemented by a 670-page book documenting their collaboration. Andrea Carrillo & Nadja Bournonville present a skilful pairing of contemplative photos and fast-paced videos in Flickering Trophies, while Ana García Jácome & Sophie Allerding have compiled an Anatomical Theatre based on images and sound.
