HG Esch: Shanghai Panorama

October 7, 2013

Impressions from the New York exhibition
During New York's recent "Shanghai Week", German Leica photographer Hans Georg Esch (1964) presented his large-scale project "Shanghai 360°" outside the Rockefeller Center. His monumental 360° skyline formed an essential component of the exhibition "Amazing Shanghai", illustrating the city's history and development.

Created with the Leica S system, the series consists of 60 photographs taken within a short period of time. These were then digitally combined and printed on metal plates. The project was supported by Leica Gallery Salzburg, among others.
