The French artist was renowned for his vibrant colour shots with unusual, surreal and sometimes provocative compositions and paradoxical plots. Even his earlier, black-and-white images – some of which are included in this selection – already hint at the techniques that would go on to characterise his famously dynamic colour work.
The retrospective exhibition comprises more than 50 of Bourdin’s best known images, spanning from the 1950s to the mid-1980s
