Behind the Scenes: Me, myself & I

For a number of years now, Frank Lübke has been working on a project where he portrays celebrities next to their alter egos. Here he grants us a look behind the scenes.
The most important accessory for his series Me, myself & I is a huge wooden doll. “I always use a very movable, nearly two-metre tall mannequin with wooden limbs as a stand-in for the other self, which takes care of the physical pose. I need it for purposes of creating shadows and for the lighting. There’s nothing else to give away. Except for the fact that, even though you know how, you don’t always manage to get it.”

It once was available for purchase - it is no special model. Unfortunately, the doll is already very much worn-out as it has traveled a lot with Frank for the last seven years. The fact that more than 70 celebrities held the doll in their arms or even kissed its clay lips is quite unusual.
