In Conversation: Heidi Specker, Tobias Zielony and Ulrich Domröse in the Berlinische Galerie
The opening programme for Berlin's Month of Photography (16 to 19 October at the Martin-Gropius-Bau) includes a panel discussion between Ulrich Domröse (Head of the Berlinische Galerie Photographic Collection) and photography artists Heidi Specker and Tobias Zielony.

Their conversation will focus on the global and localised political developments that contemporary artists are faced with today. These include the effects of globalisation, current world-political conflicts and wars, as well as emotional and intellectual conflicts within our own society.

In addition, substantial changes to the art market have also changed the role of the artist. As it is virtually impossible to remain unaffected by these issues, they are often addressed in the work of contemporary artists, so becoming a part of the art itself.
