Carmignac Photojournalism Award - Apply Now!

August 8, 2018

Submissions for the tenth edition of the Carmignac Photojournalism Award are open until 7 October 2018.
The Amazon jungle is a place of superlatives. Spanning an area of 5.5 million square-metres across the territories of nine countries, it is the world’s largest tropical rainforest and home to the greatest variety of plants and animals on Earth. And yet, the Amazon is as vulnerable as it is magnificent: every year, large-scale timber logging eradicates vast areas of the forest – destroying natural habitats and severely endangering its unique ecosystem.

The tenth edition of the Carmignac Photojournalism Award is dedicated to the theme of ‘Amazon’, with the aim of raising awareness for the local and global consequences of extreme deforestation. Up until 7 October 2018, photographers from all around the world are invited to submit up to 15 images and an accompanying text. The winner, who is set to receive 50,000 euros to finance their reportage project, will be selected in November by ten jury members, headed by WWF-president Yolanda Kakabadse. Participation in the contest is free of charge.
