Despite the cancellation of the Recontres d’Arles photo festival, the French city will host a range of exhibitions until September 6, 2020.

When this year’s edition of the Recontres d’Arles photo festival had to be cancelled, more than 20 of the town’s art galleries and institutions decided to join forces and devise an abridged summer programme. The result is an appealing range of events centred around fine-art installations, live performances and, of course, photography.

In addition to numerous galleries, the participating venues include the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation, the Fondation Van Gogh Arles, the Museum Réattu, the Chapelle du Méjan, and the Croisière. Open studios, as well as workshops for children, will also form part of the Arles Contemporain programme. All shows, exhibitions and events will be held in strict compliance with the current health and safety regulations.
