In addition to the camera, the set included a Summilux-M 50 mm f/1.4 Asph lens. The titanium cameras were engraved with “1954–2004 50 Jahre M-System” and came with a special serial number from 3.000.050 to 3.000.550.
In addition to this set, there were 50 more limited edition pieces in a jubilee set that included three lenses made out of massive titanium. The cameras in these sets had serial numbers 3.000.000 to 3.000.050.
In 2005, the M7 Titanium with serial number 3.000.000, with which Leica Camera had honoured the photographer Sebastião Salgado, was auctioned at WestLicht for 90,000 euros. At the time, this broke the auction price record for cameras built after 1945. The proceeds of the auction went to Salgado's foundation in support of the preservation and reforestation of Brazil's tropical rainforests.
