At this year's photokina in Cologne, Leica is presenting a unique exhibition concept at the Leica Gallery, Hall 1. The exhibition focuses on artistic photography surrounding the theme of music, including photo projects carried out by musicians for whom photography has become a second passion – as in the case, for example, of musician Jamie Cullum.
The exhibition of pictures Cullum took during his most recent US tour, coincides with the launch of his latest album Interlude. With contributions from Laura Myula and Gregory Porter, the album will be released in Great Britain on October 6, 2014.
The songwriter has been a delighted M Monochrom amateur photographer for a long time now. For the illustrations for his new album, he turned to Leica photographer Michael Agel. Equipped with their Leicas, they made use of the recent US tour to capture images of the people and places they encountered along the way.
The Leica Gallery in Halle 1 will be open from 10am to 6pm every day during the trade fair from September 16 to 21, 2014. Entrance is free.
