Harvey Stein: Coney Island/Harlem: A Portrait of Two Communities
Leica Gallery New York will be showing photographs by Harvey Stein and Leonard Freed from 10 January to 22 February 2014.
The unique portraits in Stein's series "Coney Island/Harlem: A Portrait of Two Communities" capture the friendliness and warmth, as well as the changing character of both neighbourhoods.
Magnum member Leonard Freed (1929-2006) also explored his American roots in the series "Black in White America" – a photo essay on the lives of African Americans in Harlem, created during the Civil Rights Era.
