Sascha Weidner has been announced as the winner of the 15,000-euro Entrepreneur 4.0 Award
Sascha Weidner has been announced as the first-prize winner of the Entrepreneur 4.0 Award. The awards ceremony is to take place at the grand opening of the Wittenstein Innovationsfabrik (Innovations Factory) near Würzburg.

Established by Wittenstein AG in collaboration with Immagis Fine Art Photography, the award seeks to address the changing conditions for entrepreneurial activity within the context of the current, so-called 4th Industrial Revolution.

30 international photographers as well as 12 newcomers from Berlin's acclaimed Ostkreuz School for Photography were invited to visually interpret the theme of Germany's Industry 4.0 strategy, by addressing the fusion of the physical and digital world associated with this modern-day phenomenon.

First-prize winner Sascha Weidner was selected for her series Hanami (Japanese for 'flower viewing'). The Newcomer Award, worth 5,000 euros, will go to Bastian Gehbauer, second and third prize (worth 1,500 euros each) will be awarded to Julia Runge and Mara Ploscaru.
