Grandezza Naturale

August 2, 2014

The exhibition 'Grandezza Naturale' is showing at Berlin's bild plus Gallery until 15 August 2014.
Images by Marc Peschke and Jan Schmelcher are showing at the bild plus Gallery in Berlin until 15 August 2014. Both photographers are collectors of all things typographic, nostalgic and bizarre. Their art expresses an attitude of opposition and non-approval, yet at the same time it contains a strong wish to reinvent the objects of everyday life.

Of mystery and truth
The exhibition title, Grandezza Naturale, is a reminder that a sense of grandeur and magnitude can still be found in the reality we know today – that our contemporary world still offers mystique as well as truth. The objects portrayed by these two artists stem from the real world – they are a testament to their quest for the extraordinary and their desire to integrate this world into their own. At the same time, Peschke's and Schmelcher's works are a piercing commentary on the dreariness and aesthetic scarceness of our everyday environment.
