ALTENBURG PHOTOGRAPHY AUCTION
ALTENBURG PHOTOGRAPHY AUCTION
May 11, 2014
Henri Cartier-Bresson - New York City, 1960
Founded in 2004, the auction deals with modern classics as well as works by contemporary artists. In particular, attention is paid to photography from the former East Germany, which today, twenty five years after the fall of the Wall, is beginning to receive increased interest.
Among the highlights this time are Henri Cartier-Bresson's New York City from 1960, Letizia Battaglia's I Misteri della Santa Pasqua from 1989, Ruth Orkin's Albert Einstein at lunch in Princeton, New Jersey from 1953 and Vincent Peter's photo of Emma Watson (2012).
Each auction has its own catalogue including pictures of all the photographs on sale. It is available on-line at: catalogue
A preview of the pieces for the 19th Photography Auction will be possible between May 19 and 22, 2014, from 11am to 7pm each day at the Honigmond Hotel.
