Portrait meets Macro
The APO Macro Summarit-S 120 mm f/2.5 fulfils a dual role in the Leica S system. On the one hand, it is a macro lens which renders even the finest details with perfection. On the other hand, its focal length, equivalent to 100 mm in small format, makes it an ideal moderate telephoto lens particularly suited to portrait photography due to its exceptionally high light sensitivity.

Its elaborate construction consists of nine elements in seven groups. Three elements are made of specialised glass with anomalous partial dispersion, two of which offer extremely low dispersion in order to minimise chromatic aberrations. Its front-group focusing design features a floating element, i.e. a lens group which moves independently during focusing. This ensures a spectacular imaging performance even at the closest focusing distances.

In addition, the sophisticated apochromatic correction ensures perfect resolution of even the finest details.

A central shutter version of the Apo Macro Summarit-S 120 mm f/2.5 is also available.
