April 27, 2015

The Swiss Press Photo 15 award-winning pictures will continue on display at the Zurich Landesmuseum up until July 5, 2015.
The winners of the 2015 Swiss Press Awards have been named. The jury chose Yvain Genevay as Photographer of the Year for his portrait of the Jneid Syrian refugee family. The Swiss photographer works mainly for daily and weekly newspapers. Since 2000 he is a full time photographer for the French-speaking papers Le Matin and Le Matin Dimanche.

In addition to the print, online, radio and video categories, and in addition to the main prize, awards were given to photographers in six categories. Among the winners was Leica photographer Dominic Nahr, who came in third in the World category.

In his Daben City series, the photographer shows the situation of Iraqi refugees, who head to the north of the country to escape the terror of the IS. Dominic Nahr spent six months in Iraq working for the UNHCR (UN High Commission for Refugees). You can see a full reportage in the next issue of LFI, which will be available on May 22, 2015.

During the Hamburg Photography Triennial, LFI is presenting the Refugee Perspectives exhibition with photos by Ayman Oghanna and Giulio Rimondi in addition to Dominic Nahr. You can find further information about the exhibition at: Phototriennale.
