Running until June 12, 2016, the Ludwiggalerie at Schloss Oberhausen is presenting the exhibition 'Mann und Auto | Die Bude | Im guten Glauben. Reportagen und Fotografien von 1985 bis heute' (Man and car · The shack · In good faith. Reportages and photographs from 1985 till today) by the German photographer Brigitte Kraemer.

Since the mid eighties, the Herne-based photographer has been working for large newspapers and magazines, researching the fates of women living in secret homes, observing men and cars, and the architectures typical of the Ruhrgebiet, with its operators and occupants.

Kraemer’s photographic work is defined by critical – sometimes with a pinch of irony – reportages with a great closeness to people. She is currently covering refugees with her camera. These to-date unpublished pictures also appear in the exhibition.

This exhibition represents a first museum-like overview of Kaermer’s work. A catalogue is being published by Kerber Verlag.
